At 10am today the Roko Tui (Executive Heads) from the 14 provinces in Fiji will have a briefing at the meeting house in Bau, Ulunivuaka.
This will be followed by an induction on their roles and responsibilities at the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) meeting.
The three representatives from Rotuma will have an interpreter during the GCC meeting.
Archbishop Peter Loy Chong is also expected to be at the opening of the GCC but on a non participatory role alongside foreign diplomats.
The official opening tomorrow will be conducted by the head of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai.
