2022 General Election: FijiFirst announces proposed candidates

Former members of Opposition parties Mosese Bulitavu and Riddhi Damodar are among the list of 55 proposed candidates announced by the FijiFirst Party today.

A total of 10 new candidates are part of the line-up, with 25 existing members of FijiFirst also making the cut to contest this year’s elections.

While announcing the candidates at the party’s head office in Suva today, FijiFirst general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also reiterated the party was ready to contest the elections under the guidance of party leader Voreqe Bainimarama.

He also clarified that one of the FijiFirst members had not applied to contest, which was Dr Salik Ram Govind.

“The member that’s no longer part of the proposed list of candidates is Rohit Sharma,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
