Current staffing arrangements and collective agreements at Fiji Airports Ltd (FAL) will not change as a result of Fiji Airways now managing operations of FAL, says Fiji Airports Ltd chairman Hasmukh Patel.
He made the comments after Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum announced while delivering the 2022-2023 budget that Fiji Airways had been selected to manage the operations of the Nadi International Airport, the Nausori International Airport and all 13 domestic outer island airports.
“Fiji Airways will also invest in our people by providing service and technical training which will further enhance the performance of the company, and its economic and social contributions,” said Mr Patel.
“There is no doubt that the opportunity to improve, grow and develop people at Fiji Airports will be enhanced by access to training and learning.”
He said the management deal with Fiji Airports was about improving service delivery.
“Fiji Airways, as the management company, is perfectly positioned to deliver on the objective of improving service delivery and efficiency for Fiji Airports with a track record of high-quality productivity, the capacity to deliver necessary improvements and a deep understanding of the aviation industry.
“We could not have wished for a better partner than Fiji Airways to manage our assets as Fiji Airports sets out on a journey to be an efficient, modern and growth-based company striving for excellence in all facets of its operations.”
