2019 Pacific Games: Veidreyaki achieves personal best; Sits at number one

CAPTAIN of the Fiji weightlifting team to the Pacific Games in Samoa, Patrick Veidreyaki, today achieved personal bests in the 81kg category lift.

He set personal bests in the snatch competition as well as the clean and jerk.

For the snatch category, Veidreyaki lifted 117kg in his final lift – his old personal best was 110kg.

As for the clean and jerk category, the 29-year-old achieved a personal best by lifting a total of 151kg beating his old personal best of 110kg.

All lifters who will be lifting tomorrow (Friday) in the next round of the 81kg will need to surpass Veidreyaki’s total points of 268 if they want to be in the first position.

Veidreyaki sits at number one at present.
