The Land Transport Authority has launched a $15.4 million digital transformation, marking a major step in modernising transport services and improving access for Fijians nationwide.
Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau yesterday launched LTA’s upgraded NodaLTA e-Services platform and revamped website at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, describing the initiative as a milestone in Fiji’s journey toward becoming a digitally enabled nation.
He said the transport sector plays a central role in national development, supporting connectivity, trade, road safety and economic activity, and must evolve to meet rising public expectations.
“For many years, LTA services relied heavily on manual and counter-based processes, resulting in long queues, processing delays and higher costs for customers,” Mr Tuisawau said.
He said the new digital platform addresses these challenges by improving efficiency, strengthening governance and enhancing transparency.
“This initiative represents a significant national investment of $15.4 million over three years, demonstrating the Government’s commitment to sustainable, high-impact digital solutions that deliver long-term value to citizens and businesses,” he said.
At the heart of the transformation is the upgraded NodaLTA system, a customer-focused platform designed to reduce in-branch visits, shorten waiting times and allow customers to complete transactions anytime and anywhere.
Services now available online include Traffic Infringement Notice searches, transfers and payments, as well as licence-related services, accessible through LTA’s website and mobile application. Secure digital payments can be made via ANZ, BSP, M-PAiSA and MyCash.
Mr Tuisawau said the platform would particularly benefit rural and maritime communities by removing distance and geography as barriers to essential services.
He added that future releases will include online licence and vehicle registration renewals, as the LTA continues its digital transformation journey.
