The Fijian Elections Office has received name reservation applications for fourteen new proposed political parties for the 2026 General Election.

This is in addition to the seven political parties already registered with the Fijian Elections Office.

In a document cited by this newspaper, the names of the proposed parties for registration are listed alongside those of the person who made the application.

The Solidarity Fiji party is proposed to be set up by members of the deregistered FijiFirst party.

Fiji’s electoral laws state each new party has to collect 5000 signatures from around Fiji and submit them with their registration application form to the FEO.

All applications will be vetted by the FEO before applications are either rejected or approved.

The current seven registered political parties with FEO are the All Peoples Party, Fiji Labour Party, National Federation Party, Social Democratic Liberal Party, People’s Alliance Party, Unity Fiji, and We Unite Fiji Party.
