Eleven families affected by recent flooding in the Central Division have received food ration assistance as part of Government’s immediate relief efforts.
Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Mosese Bulitavu visited impacted communities today, including Nakasi, Waidamudamu Settlement and Mataika Road in Davuilevu, to assess conditions on the ground.
During the visit, the Minister met with affected households to better understand the challenges they face as they begin recovery following weekend flooding.
The assistance provided is aimed at supporting displaced families with essential supplies as they rebuild.
The Ministry, through the National Disaster Risk Management Office, continues to coordinate response efforts alongside relevant agencies to ensure timely aid reaches those in need.
Mr Bulitavu is expected to travel to the Western Division from tomorrow to visit communities impacted by Tropical Cyclone Vaianu.
