10 public holidays in 2020

GOVERNMENT has gazetted 10 public holidays for the new year.

A statement from the Ministry of Information revealed that the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations had consulted the stakeholders on the dates before gazetting the dates.

The announcement will allow Fijians and all relevant stakeholders to plan their activities for 2020.

The holidays are as follows: 

  1. New Year’s Day                                             —         Wednesday, 1 January 2020
  2. Good Friday                                                   —         Friday, 10 April 2020
  3. Easter Saturday                                              —         Saturday, 11 April 2020
  4. Easter Monday                                               —         Monday, 13 April 2020
  5. Constitution Day                                             —         Monday, 7 September 2020
  6. Fiji Day                                                         —         Saturday, 10 October 2020
  7. Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday                        —         Monday, 2 November 2020
  8. Diwali                                                            —         Monday, 16 November 2020
  9. Christmas Day                                               —         Friday, 25 December 2020
  10. Boxing Day                                                  —         Monday, 28 December 2020
