A primary school student of Khalsa Rd in Suva was killed in a road accident yesterday morning.
Police believe the boy was on his way to school when the incident occurred.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident, saying the student died while being transported to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
“The victim was standing on the side of the road when he was hit by a car driven by a 25-year-old man,” Ms Naisoro said.
“He sustained injuries and was rushed to the CWM Hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.”
Ms Naisoro said the driver would be brought in for questioning.
