World Rugby U20 Championship: Georgia defeats Fiji in 9th place playoff

THE Vodafone Fiji U20 side suffered a shock 12-8 defeat at the hands of Georgia in the 9th place playoff match at the World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina this morning.

Fiji led 5-nil at half-time and increased the lead to 8-nil in the second spell.

Georgia scored two tires in the last quarter of the match and secured a spot in next year competition.

The Fijians will now play Scotland in the 11th place playoff and the loser of that match will be relegated from the competition.

The Fiji-Scotland match kicks off at 1.30am on Sunday.
