Weather watch: Trough of low pressure moving to the West

EXPECT rain in most parts of the country for the next few days.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains slow moving just to the west of Fiji.

Meanwhile, a moist northerly wind flow prevails over the country.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Western half of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and interior of larger islands.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with heavy falls.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

For mariners expect moderate to fresh northerly winds and moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Wednesday expect cloudy periods with some showers and possible thunderstorms over western Viti Levu , Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and interior of the larger islands.

Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms elsewhere.
