Water situation: Ba residents put on alert

Listen to this article:

RESIDENTS in some parts of Ba have been advised that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply from 10pm to 4am on a daily basis, until further notice.

The Water Authority of Fiji says the supply interruption is attributed to the low water levels at the Balevuto Dam.

This prompted the authority to carry out urgent operation works, which involve the throttling of off-take valves in order to build-up water levels at the Balevuto Dam.

Areas expected to be affected include:

– Balevuto

– Nukuloa

– Nacaci

– Vatusui

– Parts of Naruku

– Kumkum

– Moto

– Tabataba

The authority has advised customers in those areas to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
