THREE former Fiji 7s players stood out for Wardens in their 52-3 win over Delainavesi in the Suva Rugby Union Koroturaga CBS Power Solutions Challenge Cup at the ANZ Stadium in Suva last Saturday.
Joji Ragamate, Sailosi Naiteqe Jr and former athletics Fiji sprinter and 7s rover Niko Verekauta sparked their magic for the Wardens to keep the title for the fifth consecutive time. The side joined the competition this year and had showed some good talents in past weeks.
Manager Semesa Vakacabeqoli said team bonding played a key role in their wins.
“We are confident of winning the cup this year. There is a lot of expectation from many people,” he said.
“We have passed the hard games in the past five matches. We have been training very hard for the competition and it is making a lot of difference. I told the boys to follow the game plan and things will open for us and made tries.”
Apart from the trio, Josua Korobili, Peni Naibili, Isake Raselala and Joeli Tuberi scored the other tries for the side.
Delainavesi fly-half Lemeki Baleitavua kicked a penalty for their three points.
