Visitor arrivals dip slightly in September

Fiji recorded 92,344 visitor arrivals in September 2025, according to provisional figures released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.

The marked a 7.4 per cent drop from August 2025, when 99,737 visitors arrived in the country.

Of the total arrivals, 90,930 visitors came by air, while 1,414 arrived by sea, including 1,156 seamen on fishing vessels and 258 yacht visitors.

The data showed that 82.1 per cent of arrivals were for holiday purposes, 6.3 per cent came to visit friends and relatives, 2.3 per cent for business, and 9.3 per cent for other reasons.

Australia remained Fiji’s largest source market, contributing 44,187 visitors (47.9%), followed by New Zealand with 22,821 (24.7%), and the United States with 8,906 (9.6%).

Other key markets included Continental Europe (2,767), China (2,650), Canada (1,515), and the United Kingdom (935).

Despite the minor dip, the overall figures indicate continued stability in Fiji’s tourism recovery, with visitor numbers remaining above pre-pandemic averages.
