CONGRATULATIONS to the young Rewa side for successfully defending the BOG title.
It was clear from the beginning that young Iosefo Verevou would have a huge impact on the game. Ba dominated early proceedings with crisp passing and possession but failed to find the opener and were punished by Iosefo Verevou for losing possession in the midfield.
Ba had their chances twice hitting the post but it was just not to be. Analysing the match, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Ba does not have a quality striker.
The successful Ba teams of the past have always had a star striker in the likes of Ravuama Madigi, Esala Masi and Osea Vakatalesau to name a few.
The current Ba team does not have the X-factor that Rewa have in the form of Verevou.
For Ba to be successful in future, they need to start looking for their own Verevou as the young Iosefo Verevou who is only 19 is here to stay and will torment Ba and the rest for the next 10 or so years.
Congratulation to Verevou for winning the golden boot and the best player award.
