THE Labasa Muslim Sports and Social Club will organise its annual Vanua Cup after a lapse of two years.
The tournament to feature 10 teams will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori from November 28 to 30.
Tournament organising secretary Mohammed Sareem said the pool draws would be done today.
He said they were yet to secure a sponsor but remained hopeful of getting some on board in the lead-up to the tournament.
The three-day tournament will feature players from Vanua Levu and those Northerners who reside in Viti Levu.
“The tournament started in 2009 with only eight teams and this year 14 teams are interested to participate,” Sareem said.
“We can accommodate only 10 teams as this is only a three-day event.”
Seaqaqa will be back to defend the title it won in 2012.
Sareem said they had attractive prizes up for grabs in the tournament.
“The winner will receive $1500 in cash with the Vanua Cup whilst the runners up receive $500 in cash plus a trophy,” he said.
“The losing semi-finalist also receives cash prizes. We also have bowl and plate competitions.”
