MORE than 10 crew members from the visiting US Navy Ship USS Shoup (DDG 86) took part in a clean up activity organised at the Chanel Home of Compassion in Tamavua earlier today.

Registered Nurse at the Home, Sister Asinate Melania said the crew visited the place to also spend time with the residents.

“It has been a pleasure having them here with us today. We had groups visit us before. It is nice to have them help us out in the work we do here especially the work we are unable to do at this time,” Sister Melania said.

The crew will also be part of a mangrove planting program tomorrow at the Suva Foreshore along Nasese from 4.30pm
