UNITY Fiji party will consider decreasing the prices of alcohol and cigarettes if it wins the 2018 General Election, says the party’s candidate Suliasi Tamanalevu.

Mr Tamanalevu’s comment was in response to a question during their campaign at Delaivalelevu Settlement in Tacirua on Tuesday night.

Binesh Chand, 40, who resides in the area said the increasing prices of alcohol and cigarettes affected ordinary people too.

“The prices of goods and services have increased dramatically over the past years, even a packet of cigarette now costs more than $10, we want the Government that will come in after the upcoming general elections to decrease the prices of these goods,” Mr Chand said.

In his response, Mr Tamanalevu said decreasing the prices of alcohol and cigarette would be considered.
