Uluinakau rugby confident of winning Nasinu union trophy

Listen to this article:

ULUINAKAU Rugby Club is confident that after multiple attempts, this year it will hoist the Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby Union trophy.

“This is our year,” said the club’s team manager, Iliesa Tikotani.

The team managed to reach the final in 2017 playing Newtown Rugby Club but fell short.

“We were unlucky in 2017, and lost out in the elimination rounds last year,” Tikotani said.

“With our current form, we believe this is our year.”

Uluinakau Rugby Club is also known to be a powerhouse when it came to the abbreviated rugby code.

The club has shown its capability of being able to cope with top clubs in the union when it came to the 15s rugby.

“Most of our players have experience and are fit because of sevens rugby.

“It makes it easier to maintain their form and so far we have achieved the results we are after with one more mountain to climb.”

That mountain is the Police Rugby Club who they will play in the final.

“We have beaten them during the round robin competition and are we are confident that the players know what they have to do to ensure nothing stops us this weekend.”

Uluinakau will play Police in the Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby Union club competition final this weekend at St Marcellin Primary School grounds in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
