A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers is expected to move in from the north later on Monday.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says cloudy periods with some showers are expected today over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori-Korovou-Tailevu, Naitasiri-Ra, the interior and eastern parts of Macuata and Cakaudrove — including Taveuni and nearby smaller islands — as well as Southern Bua, Kadavu, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
Elsewhere, conditions are expected to remain mostly fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
Looking ahead to Monday, forecasters say showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop over much of the eastern and interior parts of the larger islands and maritime regions, including Navua to Rakiraki, Serua-Namosi, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Ra, Macuata, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti.
“Showers are expected to become more frequent later in the day, with isolated heavy falls likely,” the weather office said.
Elsewhere, fine weather is expected apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
