LITIA Tikoisuva will be Team Fiji’s flag bearer at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland later this month.
Team Fiji chef de mission Lyndall Fisher said the champion bowler would be in a traditional Fijian dress for the opening ceremony which would be held at the Celtic Park on July 23.
“The Glasgow outing will be Litia’s fourth Commonwealth Games appearance, having represented Fiji at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Games, 2002 Manchester Games and 2006 Melbourne Games,” she said.
“Litia is skip for the Triples and Fours Teams for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and joins Salanieta Gukivuli, Elizabeth Moceiwai, Doreen O’Connor and Radhika Prasad in the women’s bowling team.”
Tikoisuva won gold medals at the 2005 Asia Pacific Championship in Australia and 2003 South Pacific Games in Fiji and she won silver medals at the 2005 World Indoor Championship, 2004 Australia Open, 2003 Asia Pacific Championships in Australia.
She also won bronze medals at the 2011 Asia Pacific Championships in Australia, the 2003 South Pacific Games in Fiji and at the 2003 Asia Pacific Championships in Australia.
She had also been a semi-finalist at the Champion of Champions event in Australia in 2004 and was a quarter-finalist at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Team Fiji would be departing in three groups starting with Fisher leading the athletics and bowls teams tomorrow, swimming and weightlifting with the medical team departing on Wednesday and the balance of the team officials departing on Friday.
