LITIA Tikoisuva and Rajinesh Prasad scooped the Raj Charan National Open titles annual Raj Charan National Open Singles at the Suva Bowling club.

The duo will represent Fiji to Australia in the Champion to Champion World Singles tournament at the end of the month.

Despite the win, Tikoisuva lost to Mereani Thaggard of Suva on Saturday that kept the hopes high for the other participants.

“Mereani is a new bowler and the way she played was outstanding and she deserved the win,” Tikoisuva said.

“Bowling is anyone’s game and its how you work yourself out with the weather on that particular day that can make a difference.

“It’s really anyone’s game in terms of bowls because you really can’t underestimate anyone.”

Meanwhile Rajinesh Prasad won the men’s division upsetting experienced bowlers during the play-offs.

“I’m happy for the achievement because I lost in the semi-finals last year but I was able to pull through this year and I would like to thank my family for their support and my club in Nadi,” Prasad said.

Tikoisuva walked away with $400 as cash prize while Rajinesh Prasad received $600.
