FIJI’S top women’s bowler Litia Tikoisuva is expected to return to the world rankings chart after impressing at the World Singles Champion of Champions at the Fendalton Bowling Club in Christchurch, New Zealand last weekend.
Tikoisuva who was ranked world number two in November 2007, lost in the semi-finals of the tournament.
She went down to Saskia Schaft of the Netherlands 10-4, 8-4.
Tikoisuva reached the semi-final after beating T Jim 9-4, 10-9 in a tight elimination fixture.
She dropped out of the world rankings after failing to compete on the international scene recently.
Tikoisuva is one of Fiji’s most decorated women’s bowler.
She has represented the country at the World Bowls Championship from 1996 to 2012 and won the bronze medal in 1996.
Tikoisuva won gold in the singles, silver in the pairs and bronze in fours at the Asia Pacific Championship in 2011.
She participated at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2006 and won the silver medal at the 2005 World Indoor Championships.
Tikoisuva won the silver medal at the 2006 Australian Open.
Samuela Tui who played in the men’s section at the World Singles Champion of Champions failed to make it to the eliminations.
