It was a proud moment for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua as they officially launched a book about their journey last night.

Titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” the book is written by esteemed rugby commentator Greg Clark and seasoned sports writer Norman Tasker.

“I’m thrilled that the book has now been launched because it’s been quite a few months that we’ve been putting it together,” said Clark.

“I think we’ve captured certainly the first three years of the Drua which has been sensational, making the playoffs in the second year and the third year which no other Super Rugby team has done before.

“I got the opportunity to be involved in the Drua, I was there on day one when they assembled at Lennox Head in the middle of COVID, in northern New South Wales.

“The Rise of the Drua” chronicles the team’s journey from its formation during the COVID crisis to its remarkable success in Super Rugby Pacific.”
