The Suva Volleyball Association has initiated the selection process for their Suva team in preparation for the 2025 season.
Team coaches were actively involved in monitoring players during the second phase of the SVA club competition that took place yesterday.
Jone Baleilomaloma, the games coordinator, revealed that a total of 18 teams participated in the competition, with eight competing in the men’s premier grade and 10 in the A grades competition.
Having successfully concluded the first phase of club games, the association has now commenced the second phase, which will span over three weeks.
Teams are fiercely competing to secure their positions and rankings, which will play a pivotal role in determining their participation in the upcoming knockouts.
“It’s very competitive in our premier grades we have noticed that our A grade moving up to the premier grade they are finding it hard to win their matches, that the sign that how competitive the premier grade is,” said Baleilomaloma.
“Teams are vying to move up to the premier grades in terms of trying to develop their own grades.
“Community support has been exceptional, with teams proudly representing their respective communities and demonstrating strong participation and enthusiasm.
“We also having our selection starting from today (yesterday), for our Suva players that will represent Suva Volleyball Association come sanctioned tournament in 2025.
“So, our teams coach is moving around monitoring the players and speaking to team coaches in regard to the selection.
“Our main aim is to groom our young players to represent Suva, and also to be the best squad come 2025.”
With the support of favorable weather conditions, the Suva Volleyball Association is optimistic about the prospects for a successful and exciting season ahead.
