THE 2018 Skipper Cup champions Suva rugby union has extended their partnership with Qaqa Jacks of Fiji and is confident of extending their reign as champions this season.

The defending champions of local rugby competitions received a boost of $39,458 grant towards their build-up in the competition that kicks off this evening.

Suva men’s team captain Peni Raidre said defending every game would be a final for them.

“Every team has their eyes fixed on the Skipper Cup so we are expecting the first round to the last to be tough but we will not give in easily because I believe in my players and their capabilities.”

Meanwhile, Suva rugby was crowned as the local champs in 2018 winning the under 20 trophy, the women’s competition and the main cup final.
