Spring Festival celebrations

THE Chinese Spring Festival was celebrated with lots of entertainment for people of different ages gathered at the Suva Civic Centre last night. Speaking at the event, Chinese ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo thanked the President Jioji Konrote for his presence at the celebrations.

Mr Qian said Mr Konrote’s presence demonstrated Fiji’s support and relations with China.

“On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, I would like to extend our warm greetings and best wishes to you all and I would like to thank the President of Fiji for gracing us with his presence, which truly demonstrates its care and support for the China and Fiji’s relations,” he said.

The event saw the China Railway Art Group perform several items for the audience.

Meanwhile, the Spring Festival is an annual event held in China and in Chinese communities around the world.

This event takes place on different dates each year, but it typically begins during the beginning of February and continues until the middle of the same month.
