The Auditor-General’s special investigation on the allocation of lots and awarding of tenders by the Housing Authority of Fiji has been completed.

The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) confirmed this in its statement issued this afternoon as it handed the special investigation report to Housing Authority chairperson Lorraine Seeto today.

The report highlights the findings of the special investigation to the Board as per the agreed terms of reference (ToR).

“It also provides recommendations on how improvements can be brought about in the future allotment of lots in the subdivisions developed by the authority and in its overall governance processes,” the OAG stated.

The OAG stated that while its resources had been adversely affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it still prioritised the investigation because of the great interest the matter generated among members of the public.
