TAMINA Bibi has been having sleepless nights since Friday.

Ms Bibi lost her younger brother Ashraf Ali Razat in last week’s terrorist attack at the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Mr Ali, 58, left Fiji for NZ five days before the mass shooting happened.

He was staying with his older brother Ramzan who was also at the mosque, but survived the deadly shooting. Ms Bibi said she could not believe the news when it was relayed to her.

“He went on Saturday last week. He went for a vacation for three weeks,” she said.

“I last met him on the Friday before he left. I came to know about his passing at 11.30pm yesterday (Saturday).

“I haven’t slept well since Friday. I was always on my phone with our family in NZ.

“My brother was a very good person. Always smiling and helping people through his taxi business,” Ms Bibi said.

She hopes to travel to NZ this week for her brother’s funeral.
