MOVERS & SHAKERS: Sharma appointed to FPTCL board

THE Fiji Public Trustee Corporation Pte Ltd (FPTCL) has appointed university lecturer Navneel Sharma to its board of directors.

Mr Sharma has more than 20 years of experience in the field of law, with a strong background in legal practice, governance and public administration.

He is a notary public and serves as lecturer in law at the University of South Pacific, where he plays a key role in shaping the next generation of legal professionals across the Pacific region.

At present, he is pursuing his Doctoral Studies in Law, further strengthening his expertise and research in legal field.

Mr Sharma had previously served as a board member of the Mataivalu Savings and Credit Union, where he contributed to the organisation’s strategic and governance functions.

According to FPTCL, his vast experience reflected a deep commitment to the principles of good governance, integrity and public service.

Mr Sharma has reaffirmed his dedication to upholding the ethos of FPTCPL, and to promote transparency, accountability and sound governance practices.

Having held senior positions within government, Mr Sharma remains devoted to the service of the Fijian people, bringing both professional expertise and a strong sense of civic responsibility to his new role.

FPTCL board chairperson Liliana Warid said they were delighted to have Mr Sharma join the board.

“His wealth of experience in law, academic and governance will be invaluable as the Corporation continues to strengthen its operations and uphold the trust placed in it by the people of Fiji,” Ms Warid said.

“We look forward to his contributions in advancing our mission.”

She said Mr Sharma’s appointment underscored the board’s continued commitment to excellence, ethical leadership and the effective stewardship of trust and estate services to all Fijians.

The appointment came into effect on July 18 this year.
