Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, extends his congratulations to Fiji’s national football team, the Bula Boys, for securing a spot in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers.
Fiji earned their place in the semi-finals after finishing second in Group A.
Their journey to this point has been marked by determined performances and a strong team spirit.
Saukuru expresses the team for their dedicated performances, strong team spirit, and resilience throughout the qualifiers.
“I like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Bula Boys, our tireless efforts, dedication, and passion have led you to the semi-finals of the Oceania Qualifiers, and for that, we are incredibly proud of you,” said Saukuru.
“Reaching this milestone is a testament to your hard work, teamwork, and resilience.
“Each match you played was not just a game; it reflected the spirit of Fijian sportsmanship and determination; you have inspired many and united our nation as we cheered you on.
“I would also like to acknowledge the coaching staff, management, and everyone involved in supporting the team, your contributions have been invaluable and have played a crucial role in this achievement.”
Saukuru calls on all Fijians to continue supporting the team as they prepare for the crucial semi-final match against New Zealand.
The match against New Zealand is set to take place on March 21, 2025, at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
