SABETO Roosters is the new Fiji National Rugby League’s Vodafone Cup holder after defeating their brothers and fellow villagers Ravoravo Rabbitohs in a heated grand final at Prince Charles Park last Saturday.
Roosters head coach Voate Naravu said the boys had prepared themselves well and they worked on areas that needed improvement in their fitness level as well as their diet.
Naravu said during their preparation players were given a program including training runs at Lomolomo Beach and other logistics matters which his team saw suitable and a positive contributing factor to their victory.
“Being our tenth year of playing rugby league, we are grateful that the victory is a significant achievement and the best way to celebrate our tenth year of participation in the sport,” said Naravu.
He thanked the Momo na Tui Sabeto for being there for the team, giving his total support and also to the vanua of Betoraurau, the villagers, and families for rallying behind and their support for the Sabeto Roosters.
He hoped next year would be a bigger and better year in terms of participations and achievements.
