REWA Football Club captain Kavaia Rawaqa is confident and ready to lead his team in defending the Pillay Garments Champions v Champions series against Labasa today.

Following a successful first leg win, the team is feeling optimistic about their chances in the upcoming match.

Rawaqa commended his teammates for their hard work and dedication, especially considering the absence of some of their key players.

The team showed great resilience and adaptability with new players seamlessly integrating into the squad.

“In the first leg the boys did really well, despite most of our brothers who are participating in the Professional League,” said Rawaqa.

“I thank the boys for their hard work they have been putting in during training, the new players are adjusting well in the team, as we look forward for the final leg.”

The 35-year-old captain emphasised the importance of thorough preparation and strategic planning.

“The boys are confident, they have been working hard, as we know winning a tournament is easy, but to defend its hard, so we will be working on our game plans we have set during training and hoping for a good match against Labasa.

“Playing in Labasa will be a different atmosphere altogether, but we have been preparing physically and also mentally for this game, and we are confident we will get the win.”

As the leader of the team, Rawaqa acknowledged the pressure that comes with the role but remains optimistic about the team’s performance.

Rawaqa extended an invitation to fans and supporters to come out in full force and rally behind the team during the crucial match.
