LOCAL boxing sensation Mikaele Ravalaca is poised to seize a title opportunity as he gears up to go head-to-head with Francis Chua of Australia for the prestigious WBA Oceania Lightweight title.

This will mark Ravalaca’s third title fight, having previously clinched the Fiji Lightweight title in his debut title bout.

Despite winning fights in Australia, technicalities prevented him from claiming the title, making this upcoming fight all the more significant for him.

Winning the WBA Oceania title in front of his home crowd holds immense importance for Ravalaca, and he is determined to make it a memorable victory.

“Preparations have been going well, have been working on my fitness and speed, we know fighting against overseas opponents won be easy, so we need to be fully prepared and ready,” said Ravalaca.

“This is my third title fight, it is really important for me, and getting to fight here in my country will be a major boost, as my families and friends will be watching and cheering me on.”

He recognises the challenges of facing international opponents and is leaving no stone unturned in his training to ensure he is fully prepared for the battle ahead.

“For my opponent he is a very experience fighter, so stepping in the ring with him will be a great challenge, anything can happen, so I can’t wait for fight night.

Approaching the fight with his typical strategic mindset, Ravalaca plans to assess his opponent’s fitness and capitalise on any openings to secure a knockout.

“This fight is like any other fight their will be a winner and a loser, so I will be taking it slow in the ring, testing my opponent’s fitness, and hopefully get a knockout in the match.”

Ravalaca extends a warm invitation to all boxing enthusiasts to come and witness the thrilling matches on Saturday night.

He pledges to give his all in the ring and promises a captivating and fair fight.

Meanwhile, other title defences on the card include Binnu, who will face Apichart Klintai of Thailand for the WBA Oceania Interim title, and Zhou will face Suriya Kaeokhao (Thailand) for the WBA Oceania title.
