Police are investigating an incident where a remand prisoner uttered vulgar language to the magistrate during a hearing this week.
He is also alleged to have grabbed and thrown a microphone that was placed in front of him on the wall.
Police spokesman Wame Boutolu said the incident occurred on Wednesday at around 12 midday when the prisoner appeared before the magistrate.
“It occurred this past Wednesday around midday at the Magistrate’s Court in Suva,” said Mr Boutolu.
“A remand prisoner, while attending court, threw the microphone on the wall and uttered vulgar language to the magistrate of the court.”
Investigation continues.
