Premier league: Western clash moved

Listen to this article:

THE much-awaited Vodafone Premier League Western derby between Lautoka and Ba which was supposed to be played at Churchill Park tomorrow evening has been postponed to next Wednesday.

The Ba team arrived in the country on Monday after its unsuccessful bid to qualify for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League semi-final.

Ba went down 2-1 to Hienghene Sport during the quarter-final in New Caledonia last Saturday.

Fiji Football Association national league board chairman Yogeshwar Singh confirmed the postponement saying that Ba will only play Nasinu on Sunday which serves as a double-header with Rewa versus Suva clash at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Ba team manager Arvin Singh said his players were in recovery mode since their arrival and will start preparations for the Nasinu game from this afternoon.

Singh said they would be ready to play Lautoka next Wednesday.

The ticket price for the double header in Nausori is $6.

VPL Points:

Labasa 11, Lautoka 10, Nasinu 9, Suva 9, Tavua 9, Ba 7, Nadi 6, Rewa 3.
