FIJI is lucky to be the host country for the 15th Annual World Exchange Congress in May 2020.

Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz-Sayed Khaiyum said Fiji being the hub of the Pacific had a huge role to play in ensuring the congress was planned properly.

“This will be a chance to showcase Fiji not only in the capital markets area but also as a tourist destination to those who will be attending the congress,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

The congress is an annual meeting for chief executive officers and senior executives of the world’s trading venues.

Participants at the congress will hear from keynote speakers sharing their predictions for the future of the industry.

The congress gathers a global speaker faculty like no other to give insight into the industry from their own perspective.

South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE) chief executive officer Krishika Narayan said they were extremely delighted to be part of this historic event by being the host for the 15th Annual World Exchange Congress in Fiji.

“This is a unique development opportunity for SPSE and the capital market in Fiji as a whole to open up and be recognised among other stock exchanges around the world,” she said.

She added the event would also provide a platform for good networking opportunity with other stock exchange representatives especially in terms of various collaboration areas and learning from their own experiences.

  • The article that was published in the business page yesterday wrongly mentioned the congress will take place in 2019. The congress will take place in 2020.
