PARLIAMENT has unanimously voted to amend the 2024 sitting calendar.

Yesterday, a motion was moved by Leader of Government in Parliament, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, who said the reason for the postponement of the November sitting was the COP29 meeting to be held during that time.

He said Fiji’s vulnerability as a small island state to natural disasters made it imperative for the country to participate in the COP meeting, both at the government and parliamentary level.

As per the amendment, the sitting scheduled for November 18 to 22 has been postponed to December 2 to 6.

Parliament’s prorogation date has been shifted from December 2 to December 16.
