Pacific dermatologist centre to improve services for skin ailments

THE opening of the new training centre for Pacific Dermatologists at the Twomey Hospital in Tamavua will improve the quality of services delivered to people with skin ailments.

This was the sentiment shared by Fiji National University Associate Professor of Medicine Dr Joji Malani who said with this, it would reduce the burden of skin diseases and improve quality of Life.

He said the objectives of the centre would be to provide the knowledge and skills in dermatology to doctors in Fiji and the Pacific island countries and in the process, improve skin health care through training.

The opening of the new centre today will also see the introduction of the Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology Program.
