A good change.
This is how Opposition member and Parliament group of nine leader Ioane Naivalurua described their presence at the National Federation Party (NFP) annual convention in Sigatoka yesterday.
He was accompanied to the meeting by fellow Opposition MP Naisa Tuinaceva and both were welcomed by ec and keynote speaker Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
“We got an invite from the NFP,” Mr Naivalurua told The Fiji Times. I think it’s a good sign that we can come together for an important occasion for a certain group, in this case it’s the NFP and I think it’s good.
“If we can meet at this level here, we are sending a positive message that can be portrayed or seen by the people.”
He said one of the biggest challenges often faced in this area was the ability to listen to one another.
“So today, I am happy that we got an invite extended to us by the NFP and we respected it so that is why Honourable Naisa Tuinaceva and I came over.
“It’s an important meeting not only for the Prime Minister but also the NFP and there are diplomats here too and we hope that he (PM) would send out a message to bring about a better Fiji and bring us closer together to understanding each other.”
