INVESTIGATIONS into all reports against police officers will be conducted thoroughly.
This is the reassurance given by Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu following allegations of numerous police brutality cases.
He said investigations would be handled by the Criminal Investigation Department and Internal Affairs.
“However final decisions will be made independently by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions,” Mr Tudravu said.
When asked about potential collaboration with the military in the ongoing fight against drugs, he confirmed that the Fiji Military Forces commander Ro Jone Kalouniwai had already pledged support.
However, he said any formal decision regarding joint operations would be communicated directly to Ro Jone.
