THE Canada women’s national 7s team members took time off from their training schedule to visit the Suva Special School in Namadi Heights in Suva yesterday.

The team members, who are in the country for their first Oceania Rugby Sevens Championships, were treated by students to a welcome tea and a host of dance performances.

“It was an extreme honour to be at the school and in the country,” said team member and 2019 Pan American Games gold medalllist Breanne Nicholas.

“It was a great experience and we thank the students for having us. We look forward to playing and competing well this weekend and enjoy everything Fiji has to offer.”

The Canada 7s team are in Pool A with New Zealand, Japan SDS and Oceania 7s defending champions Australia.

Meanwhile, the All Black Ferns 7s team visited the St Annes Primary School in Suva.
