THE objections and appeals period for those who were disqualified from contesting for this year’s election will begin on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Supervisor for Elections Mohammed Saneem said this could be done before 4pm on Tuesday.

Mr Saneem said the FEO had kept well within its promise of processing nominations within 48 hours.

Independent candidates and political party candidates have until 12pm tomorrow to submit to the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) their nominees for the 2018 General Election.

So far, only four out of the eight registered political parties have filed their nominations with the FEO.

And six provisional candidates have been disqualified from contesting the elections.

FEO stressed it would not accept any further nominations after this deadline.
