Fiji’s men’s netball team is ready to make history as they gear up for the Nations Cup 2024 in Singapore next week.
After receiving their kits at the FASANOC conference room last Saturday, the team is in the final stages of preparation, determined to make their mark on the global stage.
The squad, a dynamic mix of talent and passion, represents a rising force in international men’s netball.
Among the players are Peniasi Bolatawa from Toki, Nakorotubu, Ra, whose journey started in high school and has since flourished through local and national tournaments.
For Peniasi, netball is not just a sport but a platform for building friendships and achieving dreams.
“Staying focused and putting God first in everything I do is the secret of achieving my goal,” he shared.
Also shining in the team is Antonio Lovokuro from Naselesele, Taveuni, who discovered his love for the game at 19.
After helping the Nadi 23&U team clinch a championship, Antonio has become a key player for Fiji, known for his resilience and dedication.
“You’ll encounter challenges, but picking yourself back up and putting in the effort behind the scenes is what matters,” he said.
The men’s netball Nations Cup will see the Fijian side compete against some of the world’s best.
The team departs the country for Singapore tomorrow.
