JOSEFO Seniwatui Navuku has been officially appointed the new Commissioner for the Central Division.

Mr Navuku, a former chief economic planning officer for policy at the Office of the Prime Minister, takes over from former Commissioner Central Setareki Tale who retired late last year.

Mr Navuku said he would use his experience especially in carrying out innovative development programs.

“The three priorities that I would bring into the Central Division is to strengthen the information management coordination, second is to make this office a one-stop-shop for the five provinces and the third is to empower the team as they are leaders in their different fields,” Mr Navuku said.

Mr Navuku began his career as a civil servant in 2001 with the Ministry of Public Enterprises before joining the Office of the Prime Minister in May 2012.

He officially started yesterday at his new office in Nausori and will be looking after the five provinces in the Central Division, comprising of Rewa, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Serua and Namosi.
