Navosa on revival mode

THE Navosa Rugby Union has revived its weekly club competition after a lapse of two years.

And with the aim of exposing the hidden talents out there in the highlands, the union is working tirelessly to secure sponsors for the season.

Navosa has produced some best rugby players such as Sekove Leawere, Isoa Neivua, Aisea Tuilevu, Semi Kunatani who started their career from the higlands and later stamp their mark on the international scene.

Union official Ropate Labalaba said the interests shown by the players during the club games signalled a good future for the sport in Navosa.

“With growing interests in our weekly competition, it has been noticeable the abundance of talents that has been showcased in our every Friday competition,” he said.

“These talents can only be developed to full potential if incentives are provided, at the moment we are still looking for sponsorship dealings with business houses in the Coral Coast to come on board and assist us in the developing the youths in Navosa.

“This is a beginning of a new chapter for Navosa and this is the first time ever clubs from the Baravi districts have come together and be part of Navosa Rugby Union this year.”

Labalaba said after round five of competition, the Baravi Rugby Club had been showing consistency with five wins in our round robin competition and likewise for Noitoga.

The club games continue this week at the Naviti Resort ground.
