The Namosi rugby side lost its third consecutive match in the Skipper Cup competition this year going down to Naitasiri 24-22 at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

It was a hard-fought battle between the two teams from the highlands.

An unconverted try and penalty each saw the teams tied 8-all at half-time.

Namosi had earlier suffered defeats to Nadroga and Tailevu in the competition.

The side is yet to play Suva, Nadi, Macuata and Yasawa in the round robin competition.

Namosi, which had been making the semi-finals of the Skipper Cup competition in recent seasons have been fielding a number of new players this season and are on a development phase.

The side will need to start getting points on the board to avoid relegation from the Skipper Cup this season.
