Namosi women’s rugby team is the new Pio Bosco Trophy holders after a dominant performance against Kadavu, winning 48-22 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, on Saturday.
This victory comes after Kadavu had lifted the trophy in the previous week against Nasinu, but they were unable to withstand the strong Namosi team.
Namosi showcased their skill and determination by scoring eight tries, while Kadavu managed to score three.
With this win, Namosi now sets their sights on the next challenge against Yasawa for the Trophy.
In other Subrails Marama Cup round 8 results, Lautoka had a convincing win over Tailevu with a score of 60-10, Nadroga defeated Nadi 45-33, and Suva dominated Naitasiri with a score of 64-10.
The Skipper Cup under-20 round 8 results saw Lautoka falling short against Tailevu with a score of 8-18, while Macuata triumphed over Malolo with a score of 18-14.
Ba managed to secure a close victory over Vatukoula with a score of 17-16, and Nadroga faced a defeat from Nadi with a score of 17-22. Naitasiri, on the other hand, secured a win against Suva with a score of 19-7.
In the Skipper Cup senior men’s round 8 matches, Lautoka, Macuata, Ba, and Nadroga emerged victorious against their respective opponents.
Farebrother Naitasiri also claimed a close victory over Suva with a score of 27-25.
