Nadroga stamped its place in the Skipper Cup semi-final after defeating Yasawa 22-7 at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
The Stallions outscored the hosts four tries to one.
Fullback Apisalome Waqatabu scored two tries and Panapasa Qereqeru got the other for the Stallions in the first half.
Nadroga led 15-0 at half time. In the second spell, number eight Jone Navori scored a bonus point try.
Yasawa staged a late rally with Savenaca Biu dotting don in the 77th minute which was converted by Eliki Naikusa.
Nadroga Rugby Union president Tiko Matawalu said the 2020 season had been challenging for the team.
“We are taking each game as it comes,” he said.
“So after this game we will focusing to the next game.
“It is a difficult year for us because the results have not been revealing.
“There are a lot of challenges that we are facing in this COVID-19 pandemic.”
Yasawa Rugby Union secretary Kinijoji Rakata said they had learnt a lot in their first year in the Skipper Cup.
“We have learnt a lot after getting qualification to the Skipper Cup from the Vodafone Vanua Championship.
“The lessons we went through this season will help us improve in all departments to gain back entry to the top tier competition in the country.
