Members of the deposed 2006 Parliament are expected to meet this weekend with former speaker Pita Nacuva.
A press release from Mr Nacuva’s team said he would host this meeting of former members and former senators of the House of Representatives that once sat at the old Veiuto Parliament in Suva.
“All members only served six months before they were unceremoniously evicted from Parliament on December 6, 2006,” he said.
Although rendered moot by passage of 19 years, and due to efflux of time, Mr Nacuva sincerely believes that it is important to acknowledge their constitutional roles.
“It is hoped that this event would also put a closure to the besmirched image and formally dissolve the 2006 Parliament.”
